Leadership

Rob Mason - CEO

Rob Mason didn't start his career in recruitment or human resources. His experience was in the television and commercial video production. Rob built a successful production company before veering off into an unexpected venture. Post dot com bubble Rob's projects dried up and he was looking for work. In years past Rob received frequent calls from staffing firms and recruiters. Were all of the jobs gone? Rob decided to do what he did best, a documentary on the employment market. Of the 300 companies Rob interviewed over 80% stopped posting their jobs on job boards and rarely used staffing companies. This information was a revelation that Rob needed to act on. Armed with a network of employers and access to "hidden" jobs Rob developed a business model that would act as an agent for job seekers, a "career-matching service". This new service would revolutionize the way job seekers find jobs. Instead of being a passive job board, waiting for employers to post jobs at random, this service would actually find the specific jobs desired for each job-seeking member. Because these jobs were rarely advertised the members of the service would be able to access great jobs with low competition. Less competition and targeted results would equal shorter time searching for jobs. The nominal fee charged for the service translated into more qualified candidates and employers were excited to offer their best jobs to our members. Rob founded the company in 2004 as a solo project and now the company has grown to 70 employees in the US and Canada and a network of over 15,000 employers.
