Job Description Brand Manager
Under the direction of the Vice President, Global Licensing, this position is accountable for brand research, new business development, growing new product ventures and overall brand management. This position interacts with personnel internally, and licensees/licensors externally.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES
1. Assist VP in the development of strategic plans for each individual brand.
2. Develop and issue new business packages. Make recommendations on improvements or additions/deletions as needed to ensure effective use of materials.
3. New business development: Research, identify, and secure new licensees, across categories, in accordance with each individual brand strategy.
4. Once contract is assigned assume day to day management responsibilities to ensure attainment of revenue goals.
5. Account Management responsibilities:
* Maintain effective communication with all venture partners and evaluate their financial and quality performance on an on-going basis.
* Assist in product approval process, including packaging and printed material and securing rights and permissions for all visual images.
* Oversee advertising, promotional and licensee approvals, including legal requirements regarding use of the trademarks and licensee contractual requirements involving advertising and collateral material for licensees managed.
* Proactively provide licensees with market data, competitive information, and retail intelligence.
* Ensure cross-category licensees in a specific region are working cohesively and synergistic by sharing data, best practices, potential issues, distributors, creativity, etc.
* Work with licensees to ensure that the product range is correctly positioned and offers maximum price/value to the consumer.
* Ensure licensees capitalize on new product trends.
* Monitor licensees retail distribution, recommend brand-right accounts and direct closure as necessary to protect brand image.
6. Maintain and update sales forecasts. Alert VP on a timely basis of any revisions.
7. Work with legal to ensure proper registration and protection of the company’s TM and compliance.
8. Identify marketing opportunities and prospect for potential licensees, recommending plans and programs as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* A minimum of four years’ experience in licensing – large brand name company experience highly desirable.
* Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) required.
* Travel domestic and abroad necessary.
* Exceptional communication and visual skills, required.
* College degree preferred or equivalent.
