Job Description
Job Description for Vice President, Operations Tennis Channel (www.tennischannel.com) is the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and passionate lifestyle of tennis. A hybrid of comprehensive sports, health, fitness, pop culture, entertainment, lifestyle and travel programming, the network is home to every aspect of the wide-ranging, worldwide tennis community. It also has the most concentrated single-sport coverage in television, with telecast rights to the US Open, Wimbledon, Roland Garros (French Open), Australian Open, Olympus US Open Series, ATP Masters Series, top-tier Sony Ericsson WTA Tour championship competitions, Davis Cup and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas, and Hyundai Hopman Cup. Tennis Channel is carried by eight of the top 10 MSOs and has a national footprint via DIRECTV and DISH Network. Tennis Channel is seeking a Vice President of Broadcast Operations Responsibilities include but not limited to: · Management of channel origination and master control personnel for 24/7 state-of-the-art digital high definition studio and broadcasting facility in Los Angeles · Oversee all technical aspects of network services which include networks origination, satellite/fiber transmission/adhoc services and digital media asset management · Management of tournament transmission, transmission personnel and integration of tournament feed with master control · Coordination with IT/Administration on matters of facility maintenance, utilities and security · Management of facility’s videotape vault; · Direction of network quality control · Coordination of schedules and activities of contract engineers · Hiring, scheduling and supervision of freelance ADs for live feeds · Preparation of staff payroll reports and timesheets · Approval of freelance timesheets · Approval of contract engineer timesheets before conveyance to VSG; · Affiliate receiver authorizations for Tennis Channel, reporting and record-keeping · Resolve trouble calls from affiliates · Handle affiliate receiver authorizations · Resolve trouble calls related to Channel origination and approve for re-routing of signal for technical maintenance work · Preparation of quotes & proposals for client work · Acquisition of quotes and proposals for purchases · Manage the facility’s operational and Capex budgets Qualifications: · Bachelors degree in TV Broadcast Operations preferred · Minimum of 8 years experience in an senior role in Broadcast Operations/Master Control · Experience in the Entertainment industry preferred · Strong strategic and Analytical skills a must · Excellent verbal and written skills a must
